Large pot, wooden spoon, 9x13 baking dish, whisk, measuring cups and spoons
- 1 pound macaroni noodles
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cook macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk until combined. Slowly add in the milk, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens. Add the shredded cheeses, salt, and pepper, and stir until the cheese is melted.
Add the cooked macaroni noodles to the cheese sauce and stir until combined.
Pour the macaroni and cheese into a 9x13 baking dish and top with more shredded cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until lightly browned and bubbling.
