Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 2 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix together melted butter, white sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  • Stir in flour and salt until mixture is crumbly.
  • Press mixture into the bottom and sides of a 9 inch tart pan.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together thinly sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Arrange the apples in a rose pattern in the center of the tart.
  • Brush melted butter over the apples.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until apples are soft and golden-brown.
  • Allow to cool before serving.
